Hello! My name is Jack Nolan, a self-taught artist and illustrator based in London.
From a young age, I’ve always had a deep passion for art and drawing, which became a powerful creative outlet for expressing myself. I have also lived with partial deafness and ear difficulties from an early age, which impacted my confidence and ability to participate in sports at school and social activities. As a result, art and drawing became a source of comfort and something I could truly excel at. It was always my favourite subject in school, and I spent many years experimenting with different media and subjects, such as painting and drawing animals, portraits, charcoal sketches, model making, and ink illustrations. I regularly entered school competitions and was fortunate to have one of my drawings—a depiction of the Big Ben clock tower—exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition in 2014, which was even featured on TV.
I now specialise in drawing realism-style cityscapes and architectural landmarks using fine liner pens, which I prefer over pencil over other tools due to their boldness, precision and longevity. I draw each piece with meticulous precision and care, ensuring that every detail of the subject or scene is captured. I also work full-time as a Chartered Architectural Technologist in London for a global practice with several years experience working on a variety of buildings and projects. My profession and living in London; with its rich history and diverse architecture, has served as a constant source of inspiration for my drawing and illustration work. Many of my drawings are taken from some of my favourite landmarks and areas of the city, and I aim to branch out to other cities and destinations from my travels around the world.
Please feel free to reach out to me for commissions, projects, collaborations or more information about me or my work.
Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to explore my art.
